South Dakota Hall of Fame recognizes ‘acts of excellence’

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) – The South Dakota Hall of Fame is recognizing everyday acts by ordinary people that make the state so extraordinary.

Hall officials were at Raven Industries in Sioux Falls Wednesday to recognize eight individuals and groups for their everyday hard work in everything from spreading autism awareness to coming up with a new invention.

For the Hall, excellence does not just involve athletics.

“This gathering today is honoring people who have declared acts of excellence, that is they’ve seen something in the state and they take time to share it with others,” chairman Richard Gowen said. “It’s an inspiration thinking about how important excellence is, and how important people are.”
